I challenged myself to make an authentic, working tobacco pipe made from briar wood. I made this pipe with simple hand rotary tools and lots and lots of sandpaper. For the stem, I hand polished and sanded a vulcanite blank. And for the outside of the bowl, I first poilshed it with leather dye, then finished it off by buffing and polishing it with carnauba wax.
The whole process took roughly two months from start to finish and the end result is functional.
